Mission Statement

 

The mission of AAU Gymnastics is to encourage participation and the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of gymnastics.

 

Code of Ethics

 

1. AAU Gymnastics reserves the right to revoke or suspend memberships for violations of its conduct standards.

2. All AAU members, coaches and gymnast, must be professional.

3. All AAU members, coaches and gymnast, must display good sportsmanship and conduct.

 

Meet Rules

 

1. National Office is requiring that all meets be sanctioned due to insurance liability.

2. Meets should be sanctioned online 30 days prior to the meet date (www.aausports.org)

3. All gymnast and coaches must be AAU registered.

4. All sanctioned AAU meets must have officials assigned by Fran Wishart.

5. All sanctioned meets must be listed with the state director (Linda Brown) and the assigning judge (Fran Wishart).

6. Judges meet fees will be $27 per hour per judge and a $25 mileage stipend per judge.

7. AAU Xcel rules will be used.

8. Sanctioned meet fees for local meets should not exceed $30;Themed meet fees should not exceed $40; State meet should not exceed $50

9. AAU medals must be used in some capacity for the state meet.

10. Equipment should meet USAG specifications and regulations.  For floor Bronze can use a minimum floor size of 36’ X 36’ which would give a diagonal pass of 51’. USAG specs require 56’ for all other levels. 

11.  Team totals will be calculated using the top 3 scores on each event in each level (based on National rules).  If you choose to calculate differently this must be stated on sanction flyer.

 

AAU State Meet and AAU National Qualifiers

 

1. All athletes and coaches must have a current AAU membership.

2. Host club must meet equipment specifications based on USA minimum standards.

3. Host club must be registered as a level 2 club.

4. Gymnast must compete in a minimum of 2 sanctioned meets (at least 1 away) during the competitive season to be eligible for the State meet and must attend a National qualifier for the National meet.
